With summer about to kick in and Australia on the brink of meeting its vaccination targets, we are on the precipice of opening back up! Cue Champagne corks and long-awaited catch ups with the fam-bam and your besties.
It may seem like your wedding plans - and life for that matter - have been on pause for a while, or even bunny-hopping through 2021 but now we are in a new phase of this pandemic and life is about to get a fresh update on COVID-normal.
Wedding boutiques (in Victoria) are scheduled to re-open in November, and this is the perfect opportunity to kick-start your wedding dress search for your 2022 wedding. So here is YOUR guide to reigniting your wedding dress shopping in 5 easy steps.
1. Revisit your wedding event style and plans
Has the format of your wedding changed since you were in lockdown? I know some of my own clients have moved from a large-scale wedding to a more intimate affair.
This may change the type of style/look you want to wear on your wedding day - it doesn't always change - but it's important to check in with this first before you begin madly booking wedding dress appointments.
2. Recalibrate your Priorities
What are the priorities for your wedding now?
Are they the same as when you first became engaged?
Is it still the amazing party and crazy D-floor?
Perhaps you are seriously over wearing tracksuit bottoms and working from home and your dream is now to dress up to the 'nines'.
These priorities may indeed shift what you are looking for when it comes to your wedding dress style.
3. Clean out your Insta Bookmarks or Pinterest Pins
We've all been spring cleaning something or other now that Spring is in the air; so why not get a handle on all your saved Insta posts, inspirational styling and endless Pinterest Pins.
My life in lockdown has been saving anything an everything under the sun from house projects to new style tips once our social lives open back up.
Blindly saving posts because we like a sleeve on a dress, or the waistline may not necessarily align with your new wedding format or the refreshed priorities for your celebrations post lockdown.
Cull anything that isn't a 'HELL YES' - this will be a huge help in narrowing your dream wedding look - and in addition the looks your DON'T want.
4. Check the New Collections of your favourite designers
The 2022 collections for wedding dresses have arrived in most stores across the country.
Yay!
This means there are fresh new wedding dress styles and looks for you to choose from. You may also find a new designer you now adore just from her new collection alone - and it can save you time ditching the rest.
5. Get in touch with your dream wedding dress boutiques EARLY!
If you're like me and have been busily booking some of your fave restaurants post lockdown, you may find it hard to book an appointment.
This will be the same for wedding dress stores.
We have had to schedule and reschedule bridal appointments time and time again, so there is already a queue of women ahead of you wanting to get a jump on finding their wedding dress.
I cannot WAIT to welcome you back into the showroom in November. It's going to be such a joy!
Carte Blanche Bride takes care and pride in caring for our clients. You will have our support throughout your decision making process and long after. You are our Carte Blanche Bride.
